A skid steer(skid是打滑, 滑行的意思; 通过刹车来改变方向 excavator挖掘机) is a vehicle maneuvered by skid steering, a method of steering through braking or engaging tracks履带 or wheels轮子 on one side of a vehicle. The skid steering vehicle is turned by generating differential velocity产生不同的速度 at the opposite sides of the vehicle, as the wheels or tracks are non-steerable (fixed position). Pivot steering(中枢操控, 不需要行走就可以原地改变方向的) is the most interesting maneuver of these vehicles in which they can change direction on the same place without going through any distance in forward or reverse direction, such as is seen in tanks. Skid steers are often used on building sites, where they are equipped with a front end shovel, although the vehicle has other uses by using different attachments. A skid loader or skid steer loader is a small rigid frame, engine-powered machine with lift arms used to attach a wide variety of labor-saving tools or attachments. Though sometimes they are equipped with tracks, skid-steer loaders are typically four-wheel drive vehicles with the left-side drive wheels independent of the right-side drive wheels. By having each side independent of the other, wheel speed and direction of rotation of the wheels determine the direction the loader will turn. The term "Bobcat"(商标名) is sometimes used as a generic term for skid-steer loaders. Excavators are heavy construction equipment consisting of a boom横梁, bucket挖掘用的铲子 and cab驾驶室 on a rotating platform (known as the "house"). The house sits atop an undercarriage with tracks or wheels. It is usually distinguished from a drive-through. At a drive-in restaurant, for example, customers park their vehicles and are usually served by staff who walk out to take orders and return with food, encouraging diners to remain parked while they eat. At a drive-through restaurant, conversely, customers wait in a line and pass by one or more windows to order, pay, and receive their food, encouraging them to take their meals elsewhere to eat. 例子: I want to go to the drive-in开车去看电影 and I'm nervous that sitting through two movies in accessory mode(只有radio能用的汽车模式) to be able to listen will make my battery die!
