The pedestrian lights are situated on the far side of the road to the pedestrian. A puffin crossing has the lights on the same side as the pedestrian.), toucan crossing, zebra crossing.) is a place designated for pedestrians to cross a road. Crosswalks are designed to keep pedestrians together where they can be seen by motorists, and where they can cross most safely across the flow of vehicular traffic. Marked pedestrian crossings are often found at intersections, but may also be at other points on busy roads that would otherwise be too unsafe to cross without assistance due to vehicle numbers, speed or road widths. They are also commonly installed where large numbers of pedestrians are attempting to cross (such as in shopping areas) or where vulnerable road users (such as school children) regularly cross. Rules govern usage of the pedestrian crossings to ensure safety; for example, in some areas, the pedestrian must be more than halfway across the crosswalk before the driver proceeds. Signalised pedestrian crossings clearly separate when each type of traffic (pedestrians or road vehicles) can use the crossing. Unsignalized crossings generally assist pedestrians, and usually prioritise pedestrians, depending on the locality. What appear to be just pedestrian crossings can also be created largely as a traffic calming technique, especially when combined with other features like pedestrian priority, refuge islands, or raised surfaces. A refuge island, also known as a pedestrian refuge or pedestrian island, is a small section of pavement or sidewalk, completely surrounded by asphalt or other road materials, where pedestrians can stop before finishing crossing a road. It is typically used when a street is very wide, as the pedestrian crossing can be too long for some individuals to cross in one traffic light cycle. It is also often used when no light exists, and pedestrians need safe harbour after managing one direction of traffic, before taking on the next. This significantly improves the amenity for pedestrians trying to cross busy streets, as they are much more likely to find two small gaps in traffic rather than one situation in which gaps for both directions coincide. Since this reduces their average waiting time, it also improves safety - with impatient pedestrians less likely to use gaps that turn out to be too short for safe crossing. 5. emancipation [ɪˌmænsɪˈpeɪʃ(ə)n] 断绝关系, 解放, 释放(They are very similar. Muscle dysmorphia (also known as "megarexia" or "reverse anorexia nervosa") is a disorder that is characterized by a fear of being too small, and perceiving oneself as small and weak even when one is actually large and muscular. Sometimes referred to as the Adonis Complex, muscle dysmorphia is a very specific type of body dysmorphic disorder. In this disorder a person is preoccupied with thoughts concerning appearance, especially musculature. As with other forms of body dysmorphic disorder, muscle dysmorphia is strictly connected with selective attention: individuals selectively focus their attention on perceived defect (too skinny body, underweight etc.). They are hypervigilant to even small deviations from perceived ideal and they ignore information that their body image is not consistent with reality. Judy Minter, a self-employed artist who was working on an art display at City Hall, said that she too supported the right to bear arms, though she said she did not carry a weapon herself. The wisdom of when to go armed or not seemed to her to be more the question at issue in Tuesday's accident. "There's a lot of people who do carry guns in this area," said Ms. Minter, who had spent most of the day photographing bald eagles, a common sight on Lake Coeur d'Alene. The Gadsden flag is a historical American flag with a yellow field depicting a rattlesnake 响尾蛇 coiled and ready to strike. Positioned below the rattlesnake are the words "Dont tread on me". The flag is named after American general and statesman Christopher Gadsden (1724–1805), who designed it in 1775 during the American Revolution. It was also used by the Continental Marines as an early motto flag, along with the Moultrie Flag. In modern times, the Gadsden flag is a libertarian symbol. It is sometimes associated with the Tea Party movement. Considered one of the first flags of the United States, the flag was later replaced by the current Stars and Stripes (or Old Glory) flag. Since the Revolution, the flag has seen times of reintroduction as a symbol of American patriotism, a symbol of disagreement with government, or a symbol of support for civil liberties. The First Navy Jack, which was not directly related to the Gadsden flag, has been in use by the United States Navy since its beginnings. The First Navy Jack is the current U.S. jack authorized by the United States Navy. The design is traditionally regarded as that of the first U.S. naval jack flown in the earliest years of the republic. The First Navy Jack was first used in recent history during the Bicentennial year, 1976, when all commissioned naval vessels were directed to fly it for the entire year, in lieu of the standard fifty-star jack. 9. Price fixing (price gouging) 操纵物价(Price gouging is a pejorative term referring to a situation in which a seller prices goods or commodities at a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair. This rapid increase in prices occurs after a demand or supply shock: examples include price increases after hurricanes or other natural disasters. In precise, legal usage, it is the name of a crime that applies in some of the United States during civil emergencies. In less precise usage, it can refer either to prices obtained by practices inconsistent with a competitive free market, or to windfall profits横财. In the Soviet Union, it was simply included under the single definition of speculation 投机. The term is similar to profiteering投机 but can be distinguished by being short-term and localized, and by a restriction to essentials such as food, clothing, shelter, medicine and equipment needed to preserve life, limb and property. In jurisdictions where there is no such crime, the term may still be used to pressure firms to refrain from such behavior.) is an agreement between participants on the same side in a market to buy or sell a product, service, or commodity only at a fixed price, or maintain the market conditions such that the price is maintained at a given level by controlling supply and demand. The intent of price fixing may be to push the price of a product as high as possible, generally leading to profits for all sellers but may also have the goal to fix, peg, discount, or stabilize prices. The defining characteristic of price fixing is any agreement regarding price, whether expressed or implied. Price fixing requires a conspiracy between sellers or buyers. The purpose is to coordinate pricing for mutual benefit of the traders. For example, manufacturers and retailers may conspire to sell at a common "retail" price; set a common minimum sales price, where sellers agree not to discount the sales price below the agreed-to minimum price; buy the product from a supplier at a specified maximum price; adhere to a price book or list price; engage in cooperative price advertising; standardize financial credit terms offered to purchasers; use uniform trade-in allowances; limit discounts; discontinue a free service or fix the price of one component of an overall service; adhere uniformly to previously-announced prices and terms of sale; establish uniform costs and markups; impose mandatory surcharges; purposefully reduce output or sales in order to charge higher prices; or purposefully share or pool markets, territories, or customers. Price fixing is permitted in some markets but not others; where allowed, it is often known as resale price maintenance or retail price maintenance. The term fixed price 固定价格 is a phrase used to mean the price of a good or a service is not subject to bargaining. The term commonly indicates that an external agent, such as a merchant or the government, has set a price level, which may not be changed for individual sales. In the case of governments, this may be due to price controls. Bargaining is very common in many parts of the world, outside of retail stores in Europe or North America or Japan, this makes this an exception from the general norm of pricing in these areas. Price controls 价格管控 are governmental restrictions on the prices that can be charged for goods and services in a market. The intent behind implementing such controls can stem from the desire to maintain affordability of staple foodsand goods, to prevent price gouging during shortages, and to slow inflation, or, alternatively, to insure a minimum income for providers of certain goods or a minimum wage. There are two primary forms of price control, a price ceiling, the maximum price that can be charged, and a price floor, the minimum price that can be charged. 10. for all I know 据我所知, 据我掌握的情况 according to the information I have; I think; probably. Pick-up games usually lack officials and referees, which makes them more disorganized and less structured than regular games but the total number of players in such games globally is likely to be greater than the number playing in formal competitions and leagues. Without formal rules and regulations, pick-up games are often played with a less rigid set of rules, which are sometimes established by the players themselves.) in the park. But if you want to win a serious tournament, you need a team. You need organization. Teams bring to bear the different strengths of the individuals involved. they operate from a common strategy and common game plan. The people on the team know - or should know - what they do is contributing to winning the game. The people on the team develop their skills and learn how to operate as a unit. Coaches develop the game plan based on their understanding of the laws of the game, and of the strengths and weaknesses of the two sides. If she is a good coach, she lets the players know the game plan, inside out. She forges people into a team, with a common sense of purpose, based on this understanding. At key points, she sums up what they have accomplished, and what they need to do to go further and win. An important part of this is identifying and learning from mistakes, and from advances. And as the game develops, she leads the players to make the necessary changes and adjustments.

'I realized that was the most awesome three minutes of my life and I've accepted it will go downhill from there,' he explained to The Hollywood Reporter in a recent interview. 'All morning, Robin was pitching more ideas,' he said of the Mrs. Doubtfire star. 'He was saying "Can I say this? Would it be appropriate to say this?" You're Robin Williams. You can say whatever you want!' What developed was a hilarious banter between the trio. 'Yo, Hillary, will you go to the prom with my man, Sky-lar?' the Good Will Hunting Oscar-winner says at the start of the video, later giving the high school senior a kiss on the cheek. Ben, who plays Skyler's father in Night At The Museum, then quips: 'He's a good guy, a great kisser. I don't know that personally, but I've seen. Just that time with the monkey. It was for a scene, but it seemed like you had a connection.' The seemingly off the cuff banter is interrupted by a monkey that is carrying a rose. Without missing a beat紧接着, Robin remarks: 'A monkey and a rose. That's so Freudian.' Skyler, who will appear in the reboot of Vacation, co-starring Christina Applegate and Ed Helms, due in theaters next year, told the magazine that his prom date did accept his elaborate invitation. 'Robin was this bottomless reservoir 无穷无尽之源 of kindness and hilarity,' he added. 'It was just so special to work so closely with this guy who's movies I've grown up with and watch his preparedness and his kindness.' Ben added: 'On set we felt it was going to be the last Night At The Museum so there was that awareness of it 我们有这个意识, 我们有这个觉悟, 意识到了, but obviously we had no clue what was going to happen (to Robin).'
